Discover Downham’s March Talk – Wednesday 18th March 2026 – “The Latter Days”.
The Latter Days – A Thought-Provoking Exploration of Biblical Prophecies
What if ancient texts still have something to say about the world we are living in today?
Join us at Discover Downham for The Latter Days, an evening talk exploring biblical writings and how they have been interpreted in times of global uncertainty. Drawing on passages from both the Old and New Testament, the talk invites attendees to consider the concepts of God’s judgements, warnings, and finally what the Bible describes as God’s ultimate response to a troubled, rebellious world.
Rather than a sermon, this event offers a reflective examination of scripture alongside historical and contemporary contexts. Themes such as conflict, moral responsibility, and the consequences of human actions are explored through well-known biblical passages, including writings attributed to the prophet Ezekiel. The talk, encourages listeners to think critically about how ancient prophecy has been understood across centuries — and why these interpretations continue to resonate during periods of political tension and global unrest.
Whether you approach the Bible as a sacred text, a historical document, or simply a source of enduring ideas, this talk offers an opportunity to engage thoughtfully with its themes. Audience members are encouraged to listen, reflect, and draw their own conclusions in a welcoming and respectful setting.
Led by speaker Diane Drewry, The Latter Days promises an evening of insight, discussion, and reflection for anyone interested in history, belief, and how people have sought meaning to the unpredictable events unfolding around them.
