Crotchet a Spook – Children’s Workshop
A fun, crafty Halloween workshop for children aged 6–11
Fancy making your very own spooky little ghost?
Join us at Discover Downham for a fun-filled afternoon of crochet, creativity and Halloween crafting. With the help of Clare from Threadbare, a local craft business, children will learn how to turn a crocheted piece into their very own friendly – or perhaps slightly spooky! – ghost to take home.
No experience is needed. This is all about having a go, learning a new craft and creating something to be proud of. Clare will also be bringing along some of her own handmade items for everyone to see.
If you can, please bring:
Some white, grey or cream wool, ideally Aran ply or thicker, and a 4mm or 5mm crochet hook. Don’t worry if you don’t have these – we’ll help where we can.
Also, while you’re crafting, our pay-as-you-go sweet bar will be open for a little extra treat!
Monday 26 October 2026 3:00pm – 5:00pm
£10 per child any accompanying adult is free
Places limited to just 12 children
This special workshop is also a fundraiser for the Discover Downham extension, so while the children are having fun and getting crafty, they’ll also be helping us create an even better heritage centre for the future.
Booking online is essential – only 12 places are available, so don’t let your little spook miss out!
